BUYING A VIEW HOME IN SEATTLE - An overview of the home search and buying process: |
|
|
The very best way to begin your search is to meet with your agent. I like to meet new buyers at a Windermere office near them. We talk about what you want, your desired location, and the current market climate. You will receive a “buyer’s book”. This book explains the process in detail, and gives you a placeto store all the flyers and notes you acquire regarding properties or neighborhoods during your search. I will go over the basics and explain the laws of agency, along with supplying you with a handy reference booklet. We’ll then do a computer search together so you can see all the criteria there are to choose from. Our professional database is much more complete, accurate and up-to-date than the currently available consumer tools. Then we talk about communication. Some clients prefer phone calls, and some email. Usually we need a combination of both. You will need to be pre-approved by a lender, if you don’t have one I have several trusted ones for you to choose from. Once I know your requirements, I will personally preview every property that matches. If they don’t have any surprises, we’ll talk about them and see if you’d like to view them. Once I’ve either previewed or shown you the available properties we will become much more attuned to one another. From this point on, it’s fun! We will be on top of every new listing so we can find that one great place - just for you. Offers and negotiation are the next steps and I will completely explain the process. It ultimately depends on the current market climate and the sellers of the property - and changes with each purchase. The buying process can be stressful and scary. It also can be exciting and really a lot of fun! I’ll guide you through. You will soon be “Living in the View!” |
